How LED lights will help you join the “Go Green” movement

Are you still wondering about the benefits of LED light?

There are many reasons why we should all consider going green. Many climate changes that have occurred in the last few years are no coincidence; it is pretty obvious that our consumption of our planet’s resources has risen to the point where we all depend on oil and other natural resources to perform our day to day tasks. One way to help is by switching to a more efficient way of consuming energy. One of our main energy consumers is light and whether you are aware or not light plays a big role in our day to day task. We need light for almost everything we do, let’s face it we don’t do anything in the dark other then sleep.

Light-emitting diode (LED) products for general illumination have the potential to save energy and improve lighting quality and performance in comparison to many conventional lighting technologies.

Here are some of the reasons why you should consider jumping on the green bandwagon:

LEDs last as much as 20 times longer than other lighting sources
LEDs also are designed to provide more than a decade of near maintenance-free service. Less servicing also reduces environmental impact.
LEDs consume way less energy than any other light source. LED lights use only 2-17 watts of electricity, which is 25%-80% less energy than standard lighting systems.
•The widespread use of LEDs could save about 348 terawatt hours (compared to no LED use) of electricity: This is the equivalent annual electrical output of 44 large electric power plants (1000 megawatts each), and a total savings of more than $30 billion at today’s electricity prices.”
LEDs contain no mercury, unlike their HID counterparts, whose mercury-laden remnants can seep into our water supply and adversely affect sea life, and those who eat it.
•A U.S. Department of Energy study concluded that switching away from incandescent reduces the environmental harm of lighting by three to 10 times. And as leading-edge companies continue to revolutionize the LED industry, LEDs are only getting better. According to the study, by 2017, LED bulbs will have half the impact of today’s LED bulbs and 70 percent less impact than today’s CFLs, which are not expected to change significantly.
LED lights contain no toxic elements. Most offices currently use fluorescent strip lights which contain noxious chemicals such as mercury. This will contaminate the environment when disposed of in landfill waste. Disposal has to be arranged through a registered waste carrier so switching to LED avoids the cost and time implications required for compliant disposal – and helps to protect the environment from further toxic waste.
LEDs have a better quality of light distribution and focus light in one direction as opposed to other types of lighting which waste energy by emitting light in all directions, often illuminating areas where light isn’t required (such as the ceiling). This means that less LED lights are needed to achieve the same level of brightness given off by fluorescent and incandescent lights. Fewer lights will reduce energy consumption and will therefore be a benefit to the environment.
•A longer life span means lower carbon emission foot print. LED Lights last up to six times longer than other types of lights, reducing the requirement for frequent replacements. This results in using fewer lights and hence fewer resources are needed for manufacturing processes, packaging materials and transportation.

Here at Lighting of Tomorrow we strive to transform the way people use energy – We offer efficient, affordable smart lighting solutions that allow our users to sit back and watch their energy bill drop dramatically.

Lighting of Tomorrow is an authorized dealer for the best local national lighting brands and wholesales quality LED products for commercial and industrial applications. L.O.T. focuses on working with schools, hotels, car dealerships, hospitals, gas stations, shopping centers, restaurants, public buildings, residential buildings, offices and commercial facilities around the nation. L.O.T. has built its reputation by helping commercial facilities reduce their energy and maintenance expenditures by 70% or more. We can assist in all aspects of the LED lighting process from working with lighting audits, photo-metric reports, financing, and even installation if needed. We have the experience and knowledge needed to ensure the LED solution for each application is seamless. We are one of the few companies that can reduce HID lighting by 85% & T8 Fluorescent as much as 75%.

Saving the Planet One Light Fixture at a Time

Lighting of Tomorrow started as a dream! Day by day, adventure after adventure our love for Earth grew, and we became impatient and desperate to help save our planet. We grew tired of reading and hearing about the problem but yet again we are part of the problem, so we decided to take ACTION!

After an intense retreat out in nature CEO Andersen had a light bulb spark inside! Literally!  We already knew we wanted to be a positive influence in our community, and volunteering occasionally was just not enough.  So after intensive research on our current global problems and connecting with other passionate Earth lovers we ran into a solution that has started years ago but not enough people are aware of, which is reducing our carbon foot print by using smart LED lighting technologies among other new technologies. After driving to our local cities we decided to bring smart lighting and help change one light fixture and city at a time.

The Environmental Problem

Unfortunately, as we all know the widely consumption of fossil fuels in last few decades has contributed considerably to the degradation of our environment. According to Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) reports, the Earth’s temperature has increased by 33.44 degrees Fahrenheit over the past century. More than half of this increase has happened in the last 25 years. Temperature is rising at a rate faster than ever before and human activities like burning of fossil fuels, deforestation, industrialization and pollution are considered as few of the factors responsible for global warming. Some of the problems from which our environment is suffering are: climate change, extinction of wildlife species, depletion of ozone layer and increase in air pollution.

The Solution

We understand that inefficient lighting is one of the causes of the rising global consumption of fossil fuels and we simply want to reduce our environmental foot print. We partnered up with experts in the lighting industry and have come up with a solution to the rising global problem. L.O.T. (Lighting of Tomorrow) is an innovative global green solution company that will facilitate the switch from inefficient lighting fixtures to new state of the art LED lighting technology. Our goal is to achieve significant energy cost reductions through the installation of energy-efficient lighting. We will provide lighting fixture options, finance options and installation and support to our customers by partnering up with electrical and lighting experts. We help our customers find available government incentives and the best loan programs to facilitate the upgrade.

Our Goal

The Company’s primary goal is to provide our customers with the best known brand products and latest technology in the industry. All of our products utilize green technologies that provide superior lighting quality and significant cost savings.  By offering many options we allow our customers to choose the products that best fit their budget. L.O.T. will tailor a lighting solution based on the customer’s environment and objectives. Whether our clients want to include light fixtures that offer infrastructure sensors or want to include light fixtures that detect how much traffic is walking through their doors or streets we have the solution.
